As the Lead Flight Control Systems Engineer, you act as the technical authority for the revolutionary CA-1 Europa's fly-by-wire system. You will be responsible not only for defining the system but also for driving it through all development stages and ultimately onto the flying platform. In achieving this goal, you will lead a high-calibre team of experts and partners right here at our integrated design and production facility.
The Day-to-Day
- Lead the technical development of system architectures and define requirements for flight control, vehicle management, and flight management functions, in close collaboration with internal teams and partners.
- Plan and lead the execution of the systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements development through to qualification and certification.
- Plan and lead the preparation of all technical deliverables and system documentation.
- Create the certification and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to aviation and regulatory standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and certifiable system design.
- Provide regular reporting on project status and technical changes to Chief Engineering and Programme Management.
You Should Apply If You…
- Hold a relevant degree such as a Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Have 12+ years of experience and have led the design and development of flight control hardware and software for an airborne platform, including tasks related to systems engineering, safety, aircraft certification, and avionics integration.
- Have a deep knowledge of the development of complex avionics (HW & SW) and expert-level experience in the application of system-level (ARP4754, ARP4761) and SW/HW-level (DO-178C, DO-254) standards.
- Have established a successful relationship with at least one civil or military aviation authority (e.g., LufABw, EASA).
- Have a deep knowledge of flight control, air vehicle management, and redundancy architectures.
Possess excellent communication skills in both German (C1+) and English. - Hold or are eligible for a national security clearance.
